We're in!

We just moved into our new house. The move went as smooth as it could and surprisingly everything is in place and out of boxes and organized after 1 week. Kai is having a hard time with the move and new big boy bed. He says he wants the old house and crib back. There is a lot more room to run around and more storage space. I will post pictures of the inside of the house soon. Meanwhile, here is a cute video of Kai for those of you who haven't seen him in awhile. He will be 3 years old in September. We are going to be in OC July 10-26th so mark your calendar.

I love you too

Kai has really been tugging at my nerves. I think he is the worst listener out of all his friends. He is very stubborn and strong willed. I'll ask him to come here and he will look at me and go the other way. It's frustrating! However when I was putting him to bed for his nap today I told him "mommy loves you" as I do everyday and today he said "I love you too". All my frustrations dropped and now I can't wipe that smile off my face. He is learning his independence and with that independence comes understanding.

Spring is in the air...

After the long winter months it is finally warming up! Don't get me wrong it can still be in the 30's but we've had a few days in the 70's and it's nice. It rains alot here. In 7 days there will be about 4 of them rainy.

We have set a moving date of May 17th. We have had to buy cabinets, a mailbox, hose, etc. for this new house. There is no landscaping and the grass is dead so we have some outdoor maintenance to complete as well. Luckily this is garage sale town and everyone participates in having one or shopping at one! It has now become my hobby for wednesday mornings. Kai likes to come too. He likes to point at things and say "this is nice" or "mommy would like that". We are having a garage sale at the new house this Friday with 9 other moms. I think it will be good to meet my new neighbors this way and hopefully make some extra cash.

Devin likes his job but there has been some struggles. Please keep us in prayer with how best to handle all these situations. I'm also feeling very restless as there is no place to take Kai to get out his energy when it rains. They have all outdoor parks and no nightlife. We are very limited here. Plus there is no frozen yogurt! That's my favorite food! They don't really believe in healthy foods around here.

The kids: Kai is starting to eat more foods and be less picky. He is on his way to potty training but still wears diapers and underwear. I think it is going to be a long process. Nash is cutting his first tooth on the bottom right. I'm looking forward to his new smile when both bottom teeth are fully in. He is a cranky teether though so that hasn't been easy.

We miss you all!

28 today....

I'm not too depressed about my age however I do wish I would stay 25. It's just really hard to be away from my close friends and my parents. I'm really needing to feel God's presence right now because this journey is hard. I hope to grow as a Christian woman this year and come into a more mature relationship with God. I hope to start a Bible study just like the one I had at home and gather with strong believers to pray and support each other. And I hope that my marriage would strengthen and renew as we only really have each other as family. That would be my prayer for this year.

Update:: Devin and a friend named Mandy threw me a surprise party. I was completly fooled and everyone came. It was so much fun and I felt very loved. As I was spending some time with God today he put on my heart chapter 3 of Ecclesiastes. There is a time for everything. This is my time. To be uncomfortable. To be stretched. To branch out to the unknown. What would life be like if we never took chances. Thank you Lord for these trying times that will grow me and help me to be used in the future to further your Kingdom.

The house is finally ours

Escrow closed on Friday afternoon and we can finally start moving stuff over! My parents came over this past week to visit. My mom and I did many shopping trips to get this house furnished and stuff to decorate. We need to hire a handy man to get all the drapes and blinds up. Not to mention new homes don't come with mailboxes! There is a lot to be done and I'm thankful we don't have to be in right away. Our plan is to be in the new home by June.

It snowed today. April 13th and it's snowing! This weather is really bizarre and hard to get use to. I had to drop off my mom and dad today and afterwards Kai asked if he could go to the airport and go on a plane with Papa and Gigi. He just doesn't understand that I wish I could go on a plane with them too! We'll be in Cali in July but that seems forever away.

Here are a few pictures from this week:

My Mission

I've been feeling down on myself lately. I just want to go home to be honest with you. I decided with this attitude I'm like the Israelites wandering in the desert. Let's hope it doesn't take me 40 years to get out! I came across this scripture this morning and then again in a different devotion a little later. Because God confirmed it twice I really thought I should listen:
"Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperious and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:6-9

As you can see above, I'm to be strong and courageous knowing that God has us here for a reason and is going to do great works through us. It's just what I needed to here and just in case doubt creeped in, he confirmed it to me twice. He really is an awesome and loving God.
