Thankfulness Day 143:: An attempted run

Today I thought to myself "Self you need go to and get a good run in this morning!"  So what is a mom to do when she has to bring two boys along? 

Well Nash went into the stroller and Kai went on his scooter.  As we started off my mom said she would take Nash back home so my hands were free to save Kai if need be.  This should be easy I thought!

My 30 minute run turned into a 50 minute walk, stop, run as Kai every few minutes needed to stop and rest.  "My knee is hurting, I'm getting tired, I just need to touch this pole, I'm going to sit at this bus stop for awhile, I have to pee!! (followed by us hiding in an industrial bush!) and so on.  When we got home he said he was so tired he just needed to rest on the couch and put up his feet for awhile, this child is 4!!

Needless to say this will be our last mommy and me run for awhile!  Next time I will say "Self you are crazy and there will be no run unless it's with just you and me."

Today I am thankful for my good mommy and Kai moment and teaching him how to pee in public. :)

Thankfulness Day 97:: Kai's Worship Songs

 My hubby comes from a line of talented musicians.  His Grandfather was Dick Stabile a leader of a swing orchestra, his Grandmother had a beautiful voice and did voice-overs in some famous movies, his Father is a professional drummer, his brother is a Hip Hop artisit, and he is a Worship Pastor. 
Will the gifts pass on to our children??

As we're pulling into church today Kai starts singing a song to God and tells me to write it down.

I am so thankful for Kai and his passion for music.  I pray that he would use his gifts and his passion for the greater purpose we are called for.

 

No Shame

The last few days Kai has been having "swimming lesson" with Daddy. Kai LOVES it and I think Devin likes having that special time with Kai. Well half way through Kai says he has to go potty. I asked Kai quietly if it was poo poo or pee pee. He proceeded to scream "POO POO!" The woman behind us turned around and giggled. I rushed Kai off to the bathroom and Kai made a fuss about going into the girls bathroom.

While Kai was doing his business he started to say "oh there's the pee pee and here comes the poo poo! Oh that was a BIG poo poo! Not done yet here comes more poo poo and pee pee!" Luckily we were the only ones in there during that time and when a woman entered I'm sure she just heard "I need to be wiped!" I just need to say it...Kai has NO SHAME!

I wish I had an H

The other day we were in Kai's room and he told me he really wanted an H in his name. He was looking up at Nash's wall and it has his name on in. I told him he does have an H in his name because his full name is Mikiah. He said no I don't! I said we call him Kai but his real name is Mikiah. He said I was wrong and ran into his room where he pointed at the name on his wall K A I and said see no H! I started laughing and I told him he has two names and one has an H but that he was right. Can't argue with a 3 year old.

Sleepless

So Kai woke up at 3am and I heard stomping down the hallway. I got out of bed and saw him in a shirt, no underwear, and his snow boots on! I said what are you doing? He said he was done sleeping and he's ready to go play. I quickly redirected him back to bed while he burst into tears. What can I say, I'm just a mean mom who would rather sleep then play in the snow at 3am.

Such a big heart

Today Kai was going through our wedding pictures. He came across a picture with Johnny, a family friend, in it. Johnny is in a wheelchair and has Muscular Dystrophy.

Kai "who is that?"

Me "that is Johnny"

Kai "can he talk?"

Me "yes he can talk"

Kai "I think I want to give him a kiss"

My heart melted as I heard that Kai wanted to kiss him because he saw that he has a disability or "owies". So very sweet!
