New House!

Well with the help of my parents we are going to rent/own this new house! It's a 3 car garage, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2007 house. There is a full basement which will have the 4th bedroom and 1 of the bathrooms. The total square footage is 3,754 and we have a huge backyard! This house will close escrow in about a month. Here's hoping that the winter months and hot humid summers won't be as bad in a beautiful home. Anyone is welcome to visit. :)

"The ladybug is gonna bite Kai"

There are ladybugs everywhere in this house! I think they come in where it is warm and then they die. I find dead and alive ladybugs everyday. Something you may know about me is that empathy is my #1 on my strengths finder test. So if I see a ladybug I always make sure to see if it's alive and if it is then I gently scoop it up and go outside and put it down. So I'm doing this everyday but I'm sorry to say not all make it. Some are dead outside my front door. I rationalize this by thinking that I gave them a chance to live and fly away but they chose to sit there and freeze. I can only do so much.....Back to my story. Everytime Kai sees a ladybug (which is several times a day) he says "there's a ladybug mommy and it's gonna bite Kai!" He also thinks that every piece of dust, dirt, fuzz, etc. on the ground is a ladybug. We have assured him they are friendly bugs but he doesn't believe it. I'll be happy when I have a house that is bugfree as our last house was infested with crickets!

30 degrees

It's 30 degrees here today so Kai and I celebrated by going outside to ride his bike around. After about 15 minutes I couldn't take the cold wind on my face so we went back inside. It's really important to get him out of the house and a snow storm is coming in tomorrow!

Brothers

Kai has really been good with Nash. He likes to pile toys around his head because he wants him to play with them. He also wants to shove a pacifier in his mouth when the baby cries. Kai likes to say "No fussing baby Nash". He also likes to say "Hi Nash it's me Kai". It's really cute to see him love him the way a 2 year old knows how.

Kai's first snow day

We finally got some snow gear for Kai so here is his first experience playing in the snow. He was at Reid's house, his new friend.

Updated Nash pictures

Nash weighed in at 8 lbs 12 oz when he was born. I never thought he would be as big as he is now! I decided to weigh him on a cookie sheet on our scale and he weighed in at 17 lbs at 3 months old! That is minus the cookie sheet too! Here are some current pictures of him taken in this last week.

Welcome Illinois!!

Coming to Illinois I knew would be an adventure. My mom came with me and the boys on the plane and Kai was so excited he couldn't sit still! (Okay he is just 2 and was tired and acting up but I would like to think it was excitement instead). We are renting a 5 bedroom home in Creve Coeur, about 15 minutes from the church. We are only here for 6 months and then we hope to buy something so my mom and I put everything downstairs we won't need right now and we are using the upstairs as living space.

The day after my mom left there was a big snow storm and due to the wind and the -30 temperature we lost power about 10 times. Everyone says if you don't like the weather in Illinois just wait 10 minutes. I've seen this prove to be true and so the adventure begins.
