I've been feeling down on myself lately. I just want to go home to be honest with you. I decided with this attitude I'm like the Israelites wandering in the desert. Let's hope it doesn't take me 40 years to get out! I came across this scripture this morning and then again in a different devotion a little later. Because God confirmed it twice I really thought I should listen:
"Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperious and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:6-9
As you can see above, I'm to be strong and courageous knowing that God has us here for a reason and is going to do great works through us. It's just what I needed to here and just in case doubt creeped in, he confirmed it to me twice. He really is an awesome and loving God.

The Easter bunny sheds
I woke up today and realized the Easter bunny had shed all over the ground (A.K.A. it was snowing!) On Easter of all the days! Let me back up, on Good Friday I woke up and my car had mud all over it. i guess Texas had a big dust storm that made it's way to Illinois and then the rainclouds rained over it, making mud. Saturday morning we took Kai to an outdoor Easter egg hunt. Let's just call it an Easter Freeze because it must have been in the teens outside! Nash and I had to go sit in the car because the windchill was so bad. Kai and Devin froze outside for a few pieces of candy and a rubber duck. Was it all worth it??...probably to Kai it was. I didn't get any pictures of it due to my frozen chapped hands.
This morning we drove to church in the snow and we ran a little late. I had every intention of taking pictures of Devin leading worship for all of you but it didn't happen. Maybe next week. At 1pm we had some friends over and we ate chicken, swiss potatoes, rolls, spinach salad, and a yummy apple crisp with ice cream! I think Easter wasn't as bad as I had planned because we spent it with friends. Everytime I think I hate Illinois and wonder if I was crazy for moving here, God brings along something special for me and puts me in my place. Today it was an unexpected Easter basket from an acquaintance and a nice meal with new friends.

Differences
It's fun to notice the difference in your kids. For instance Mikiah's laugh always came from the belly and it wasn't hard to get him to laugh. Nash laughs easy but it's not a belly laugh. Still it's cute in it's own way. Here is a video of it:
Here's a picture of Kai at 4 months and Nash at 4 months. They look alike to me but what do you think?
Lately I have been having problems with Nash. Let's see.....he's up 6-8 times at night, he won't take a bottle, he won't use the SNS (supplemental nursing system), he won't sleep unswaddled, he won't nap longer then 30 minutes, and he won't eat cereal. However today I felt very accomplished because after giving him cereal he still didn't want, he DID take Sweet Potatoes. In fact he liked them so much that instead of spitting them right back at me like the cereal, he kept opening his mouth and making an impatient noise! It's the small things in life that help you feel like a good mom. :)

Funny things Kai says
Some things Kai says break my heart and others make me laugh. Last week he said he didn't want to live in Illinois anymore and wanted to go home. Me too in a lot of ways. In the bath tub the other night he was washing his hands and said that Scotty put mud on them. Then he looked up to me and said "can we go to Scotty's house?" It broke my heart. Today he got upset because we had to leave a friends house and he started crying and saying that he wanted to see Gigi and go on a plane. He wanted to see Scott and Erin too. I agreed.
Funny things...he said hi to the choo choo train and when we past it he said "bye train, have a nice trip, later crocodile!" Sometimes in the car he tells me to be quiet because he is trying to talk to baby Nash. Or he will tell baby Nash to be quiet because mommy is on the phone. It's been a big adjustment for all of us and he has done so well.
