My poor baby

Nash has been waking up every hour at night for the past 3 or 4 nights. Poor me. But seriously I had some concerns. I called the doctor and got him in this afternoon. I told them he had an ear infection 3 weeks ago and finished his medication last week. It turns out it didn't work and now he has a double ear infection! They have him on new meds but if they don't work he will have to see an ear, nose, and throat doctor. Ugh. Here's to praying that he is healed soon! My poor little baby......

you should check out the eardoc for the ear infection, it is not invasive and treats the problem rather then the symptom

awww. that's the worst. M girls have skipped the meds each time. What we've done: eliminate dairy, citrus, and sugar (bad carbs turnign to sugars as well). I also used garlic ear oil several times a day (as directed), as long as there is no ear drainage (you heat it slightly or else the cold is very painful). And try and keep them upright as much as possible. Including elevating the head part of their bed. Their estachean tubes are in a position that does not promote proper drainage until they are a little older, so keeping them up is crucial.

Abx are only about 50% effective or less on ear infections. Letting it run a natural course ends about the same time the abx has all been taken, so it's hard tell tell which really did the curing; meds or nature. But there can be serious effects if not taken care of. While our girls had infections we took them in every other day or 2 and our doc just looked in their ears to give us an update. She's against using abx as a first line of defense so it was her idea to just monitor it.

Poor little guy! I pray he's better soon.

You might try an EarCheck for your next ear infection (www.earcheck.com) I used it on my daughter and it works. It confirmed she had an infection so I gave her some Tylenol so she could sleep and then went to the doc in the morning and he confirmed it. It is great peace of mind and you can avoid the abx.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to look into these suggestions. I've already started to use my garlic oil that my last doctor gave us.
