Thankfulness Day 148:: Perseverance through trials

I've had a grumpy attitude lately, well maybe on and off for the past 4 months to be honest.

So here I am in Romans 5 and I read this

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us (AMEN!!), because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:1-5

I read on in other verses about people throughout the Bible who suffered through dieing family members, persecution, beatings, etc and they STILL kept the faith.  Not only that my sisters (and maybe brothers?) but they rejoiced through it all keeping the faith because faith is what moves God!  He will restore us all and He is good promising to bless us with greater things then what we had to give up.  What an amazing God.  He died for YOU, not just for all of us but for YOU!  What a hard thing to grasp and a gift that we could never top.

I just had to go on that tangent because it's so real to me and quite life changing.  We are going on 15 months with no permanent job still in my parents home and life seems uncertain, even very down at times.  I'm choosing to believe God through faith today that it's going to all be worth it and I'm living for Him.

SIDE BAR:: I'm going on vacation tomorrow and will not be blogging until next Thursday.  I will continue my thankfulness on paper and type it all up when I get back.  I will miss you all!

Today I am thankful that I have an eternity to look forward to.

Love this post! It's so true! Through our trials (and everyone has their own, trust me) he works everything for good. I'm truly a poster child. He has a wonderful plan and future for you. Enjoy some of this down time, no matter how difficult. He'll test our faith, but we sure come out more faithful on the other side! Have a great vacation!
